Before you start cleaning, gather the right supplies. Using gentle tools and cleaners is essential — harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes can permanently damage the PVC material of your clear bubble tent.

• Mild soap — Liquid dish soap or baby shampoo works best. Avoid products containing bleach, ammonia, or degreasers.
• Microfiber cloths — These are lint-free and will not scratch the PVC. Have several on hand for damp and dry use.
• Soft-bristled brush — A car wash brush or a clean paintbrush for tight corners.
• Bucket — For mixing warm soapy water.
• Garden hose with spray nozzle — Set to "shower" or "mist" mode. Never use high-pressure jets.
• White vinegar — Optional, for tough stains and streak-free results.
• Handheld vacuum with soft brush attachment — For cleaning dust and debris from the interior.
• Fan — To speed up the drying process, especially on humid days.

Step 1: Clean the Exterior

The outside of your dome takes the brunt of the weather — rain, wind, tree sap, and whatever else nature throws at it. Always start with the tent fully deflated and laid out on a flat, clean surface like a tarp or soft grass.

Remove Dry Debris

Grab a soft-bristled brush or microfiber duster and gently sweep off leaves, dirt, and cobwebs. Pay special attention to crevices around air valves and seams — these are dust magnets. If there is caked-on mud, let it dry first. Trying to wipe wet mud will only spread it around. Once dry, most of it will brush off easily.

Wash with Soapy Water

Fill your bucket with warm water and add about one teaspoon of mild soap per gallon. You want suds, but not a foam party — too much soap leaves residue that attracts more dirt later. Dip a soft sponge or microfiber cloth into the solution, wring it out well, and start wiping from the top of the dome downward. For stubborn spots like bird droppings, let the damp cloth sit on the area for two to three minutes before wiping gently.

Rinse Thoroughly

Using your garden hose set to shower mode, rinse from the top down until all soap suds are gone. Soap residue dries into streaks, so take your time. For a streak-free finish, you can use a clean damp microfiber cloth to wipe excess water off the surface as you go.

Tackle Tough Stains

For tree sap, dab a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cloth and gently rub the spot. For bird droppings, mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, spritz the area, let it sit for five minutes, then wipe clean. Never use bleach, acetone, or abrasive cleaners — these will eat away at the PVC's protective coating and cause yellowing or cracking over time.

Step 2: Clean the Interior

The inside of your dome may not face rain or bird droppings, but it is not immune to messes. Dust, pet hair, spilled snacks, and condensation can all leave the interior looking less than fresh.

Vacuum First

With the dome fully deflated, use a handheld vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove loose dust and crumbs. For hard-to-reach corners where the dome meets the floor, a clean paintbrush works wonders — brush the dust into a pile, then vacuum it up. Avoid using a shop vac, as the suction is too strong and could pull at the fabric.

Wipe Down Surfaces

Mix the same mild soapy water solution as before. Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution, wring it out until just damp, and wipe down the walls, ceiling, and floor. Focus on areas with fingerprints or smudges, which show up more prominently on the interior because of light from outside. For a streak-free finish on the ceiling, try a vinegar solution instead: one cup of white vinegar per gallon of warm water.

Spot-Clean Spills

If someone spilled a drink inside, blot the spill with a dry microfiber cloth first — do not rub, or you will push the stain deeper. Then dip a clean cloth in soapy water, wring it out, and gently blot until the stain lifts. For oil-based stains such as sunscreen, apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the cloth and rub gently, then wipe with a damp cloth.

Clean Air Valves and Seams

Air valves and seams are easy to overlook, but they collect dust over time. Use a dry cotton swab to gently clean around valve openings to ensure they seal properly during inflation. Run a dry microfiber cloth along all seams to pick up trapped dirt. If you notice mold or mildew from condensation, mix one part hydrogen peroxide with three parts water, wipe the affected area, let it sit for ten minutes, then rinse with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Step 3: Dry Completely

Skipping the drying step is the number one mistake people make when cleaning a clear inflatable bubble tent. Trapped moisture is the leading cause of mold and mildew, which can ruin your dome faster than any stain.

Lay the deflated dome out in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Direct sunlight can cause the PVC to overheat and warp, so avoid drying it in the middle of the day. Open all air valves to let air circulate inside, and prop up any pockets where water might pool — a clean broomstick or folding chair works well for this.

If you are in a hurry or the weather is humid, set up a fan near the open valves to blow air inside. A second fan can blow across the exterior surface to speed up evaporation. Just make sure the fans are on a low setting and not pointed directly at the fabric.

After a few hours, feel the fabric with your hand — both inside and out. It should be completely dry to the touch. Pay special attention to seams, corners, and the floor, as these are common hiding spots for moisture. If any area still feels damp, leave the dome open a little longer or use a hair dryer on the cool setting to spot-dry. Never use heat, as PVC can melt easily.

Maintenance Tips to Keep It Clean Longer

A little regular maintenance goes a long way in preserving the clarity and durability of your clear inflatable bubble tent:

• Dust weekly — Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe down the interior and exterior to prevent buildup.
• Spot-clean spills immediately — The longer a spill sits, the harder it is to remove.
• Air it out after each use — Deflate the dome partially and leave the valves open for an hour to let moisture escape.
• Protect from UV rays — If storing outdoors long-term, cover the dome with a UV-resistant tarp. Sunlight can fade and weaken PVC over time.
• Inspect for damage — While cleaning, check seams and valves for leaks or tears. Patch small holes with a PVC repair kit before they become bigger problems.
• Store properly — Always store the tent in a cool, dry place inside its storage bag. Never pack it away while damp.
